Briefly...
…and into the “bin” I go…
I knew only one person in college who had a drafting board in her dorm room.
She was talented in the field of design and, during one semester, she enrolled in a photography class.
Mind you, this was before digital photography.
We’re talking the type of photography where you had to add the film to the camera in order to take a picture.
Then…
Once you snapped the picture, you had to get it developed to see how it actually turned out.
One day, my friend stopped by my dorm room and asked she could take my picture somewhere on campus for a class project.
Of course, I jumped at the chance.
After all, with my flat-top haircut, khaki pants, and collared shirt, I was the perfect subject to have his picture taken.
So there I am in my nifty outfit, posing by some trees…
Looking the sky.
Looking into the distance.
Smiling the whole time.
It was fun.
My friend told me that I could see the photos once they were processed.
Days went by.
Weeks went by.
No photos.
Then…
My friend stopped over and gave me the bad news.
The film was exposed to natural light and the pictures never developed properly.
Briefly, I modeled.
This reminded me of candidates who run for President.
They want to win their party’s nomination and, ultimately, win the White House.
While campaigning, they meet the public.
Pose for pictures.
Shake hands.
Make speeches.
Smiling the whole time.
Days go by.
Weeks go by.
Until one day, someone stops by and gives them the bad news.
Their campaign has not developed properly.
I added this picture of a failed Presidential bid.
Briefly, he ran.
…and back in the “bin” it goes.
